A week in Belgrade focused on walking the city and spending time along the rivers.
The City
Belgrade has a raw, energetic feel. Kalemegdan offers great views over the confluence of the Sava and Danube, and the surrounding parks and fortress make for long, unhurried walks. The mix of Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian, and Yugoslav architecture gives the city a distinct character.
River Life
The riverfront (especially around the Sava) was a highlight — floating clubs, casual kafanas, and people spending entire days outside. Good mix of sightseeing and just being in the city without a strict plan.
