A long trip to Mongolia with layovers in Shanghai and Seoul on the way there, and Hong Kong on the return.
The Steppe
The main draw was the vast emptiness. Weeks of horse riding, hiking, and simply sitting in the landscape with almost no connection to the outside world. Khovsgol Lake was the highlight — remote, cold, and incredibly quiet.
The Flights
The return in First Class from Hong Kong to Frankfurt on Lufthansa was a deliberate contrast after the isolation. After weeks with no internet and basic living conditions, the upgrade felt like re-entry into civilization.
A trip defined by contrast: total disconnection followed by maximum comfort on the way home.
